Torneo de Verano:

Format:
16 teams are distributed into 2 groups (Groups A and B) of 8 teams each.
Each team plays the teams from their own group twice - home and away - for a total of 14 games each, over 14 game weeks.

Scoring points:
3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.

Table order:
1. points won; 2. play-off (only for deciding Final classification); 3. total goal difference; 4. total goals scored; 5. points in head-to-head matches; 6. goal difference in hth matches; 7. draw.

Qualification for Torneo de Verano - Final:
1 place of each group: qualify for the Final


Torneo de Verano - Final:
------------

Format:
2 teams contest the Torneo de Verano winner in a knockout format.

Final:
The two teams meet each other with the winner becoming Torneo de Verano winner.
Winner is decided over one leg, with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time.
The match is played at a neutral venue.

Qualification for CONMEBOL competitions:
winner: Copa Libertadores


Apertura:
------------

Format:
16 teams, each plays the others once - for a total of 15 games each, over 15 game weeks.

Scoring points:
3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.

16 teams, each plays the others once - with hostings reversed compared to the Apertura - for a total of 15 games each, over 15 game weeks.

Scoring points:
3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.

Table order:
1. points won; 2. play-off (only for deciding Championship Final classification); 3. total goal difference; 4. total goals scored; 5. points in head-to-head matches; 6. goal difference in hth matches; 7. draw.

Qualification for CONMEBOL competitions:
1 place: Copa Libertadores

Qualification for the Championship Play-off:
1 place: qualifies for the Championship Play-off

Summary Table:
Teams' records from the Apertura and Clausura are summed (a total of 30 games each) and a Summary Table is compiled.
The winner of the Torneo de Promoción y Reserva gets awarded 2 bonus point, and the second placed team - 1 bonus point.

Summary Table order:
1. points won; 2. play-off (only for deciding relegation); 3. total goal difference; 4. total goals scored; 5. points in head-to-head matches; 6. goal difference in hth matches; 7. draw.

Qualification for CONMEBOL competitions:
best placed team that hasn't won the Torneo de Verano, Apertura or Clausura: Copa Libertadores
four best placed teams that didn't qualify for Copa Lbiertadores: Copa Sudamericana

Relegation from the league:
15-16 place in the Summary Table: relegated to Segunda División

Promotion to the league:
1 team from Segunda División
1 team from Copa Perú


Championship Play-offs:
------------

Format:
2 teams contest the Primera División champion in a knockout format.

Final:
The two Semi-finals winners meet each other with the winner becoming Primera División champion.
Winner is decided over two or three legs.
The higher placed team in the Summary table hosts the second leg.
If any of the legs ends in a draw in regular time, extra time and penalties are held until a winner is determined.

Tie-breakers for the Final knockout matches:
1. points won over the two legs, 2. a third leg with extra time and penalties if score is level after regular time
